After Shikha Joshi (Bollywood Film BA Pass actor), there is yet another death in the film industry due to less work. While, this was not a straight suicide attempt, it was no less than risking one’s life for the sake of a stable career. Yes, the reason why Telugu actor Aarthi Agarwal went for a liposuction surgery is to regain her body shape to get more roles in films.
Despite Getting the Denial from a Hyderabad Doctor, Aarthi went for the Surgery in the US
When 31 year old Aarthi Agarwal approached a Hyderabad doctor for a liposuction surgery, he simply turned her away. The reason? Well, the doctor clearly stated that her body did not have any extra fat that could be removed. This reply made Aarthi search for another option. She then went to New Jersey, her place of birth and upbringing to carry out the surgical procedure.
This Surgery Was Conducted Last Month
Aarthi was suffering from Asthma from many years. Off late she was having problems of obesity and pulmonary illness. Still, she went under the knife last month for the liposuction surgery. However, post her surgery she developed respiratory problems. It was because of this she was admitted to the hospital where she was undergoing a treatment. But, unfortunately, suffered a cardiac arrest, and eventually left her body.
What Is Liposuction? Is It Really Fatal?
Liposuction is a body contouring surgical procedure which helps in reshaping certain specific body areas by getting rid of excess fat deposits. It improves body contours and so many of the actors go for this surgical procedure. Although, death due to a liposuction surgery is very rare, fat embolism is a lethal after-effect of the liposuction surgery. This occurs when the fat tissue travels all the way to the lungs, passes into the bloodstream and blocks the blood vessels in the lungs, giving rise to respiratory disease.
When Can Liposuction Go Wrong?
Well, according to Dr Karuna Malhotra a cosmetologist, Liposuction surgery can go wrong if the fat is removed from the body without compensating it with fluids. According to her, the surgery allows removal of only two to three kg of fat from the body at once. However, there are cases where eight to nine kg of fat were removed, which obviously turned fatal.
Why Did Aarthi Agarwal Go for a Liposuction Surgery?
Till date, Aarthi has done 21 Telugu films. Though her Telugu career started with a bang in 2001, she slowly hit a rough patch in 2005 when all her films started flopping at the box office. This was the period when she even attempted suicide after successive flops and a failed relationship. Then from 2008 to 2015, Aarthi who was almost forgotten in the industry could manage only 4 films. Perhaps this is the reason why she was pressurized to undergo a liposuction surgery as she had put on a lot of weight.
Are the Actors Constantly Under Pressure to Go Under the Knife for Getting Offers?
There are not one but many actors who went for surgeries just because their directors suggested them to do so. Shilpa Shetty is one such example who went for a nose job (rhinoplasty) at the age of 18 only because her director wanted her to do so. She agreed that it was a huge mistake because it used to hurt her a lot. Koena Mitra is another example who had a failed nose surgery and is still suffering. While, not all the directors suggest plastic surgeries, there are many who tell the actress to go for surgical procedures like breast implantation, nose surgery, lip surgery etc. While, few may look good, most of them end up in a huge soup like Anuksha Sharma, Aarthi and Koena Mitra.
