Bihar election is more about Modi VS Nitish than Bihar’s welfare. Long before the poll made its kickstart, Modi and Nitish have been campaigning tooth and nail, belittling one another and sporting self as the ‘superior’. It has costed heftily to both the parties to campaign in Bihar, but who cares for the nation’s money when hovering over head is the hunger for chief-ministerial crown.
Worst of all was Nitish-Lalu’s re-established friendship. The fodder scam that drifted apart Kumar and Yadav was seen recovered to hinder BJP’s entry in Bihar. What happens if the ‘gathbandhan’ falls flat to kick out Modi from Bihar?
Preparations ahead of the polls was the time for Modi-rivals to integrate and conspire against Modi. One such anti-Modi element was the narcissist Arvind Kejriwal, who backed Nitish Kumar strongly and urged votes for him. But, Nitish’s doomed failure may actually amplify the narcissism more within the road-star Kejriwal.
Well, don’t know how many would take my side if I say Congress’ participation in Bihar polls is more of formality, but I stand firm to support this belief of mine. For Congress had already tasted the deplorable failure of 2014 Lok Sabha polls and they know that vying against Modi is not a smooth sail.
BJP’s pocket during polls was not just heavy to announce package worth crores, but heavy enough to wield in the stardom of Bollywood stars too. The clout of Hema Malini and Satrugan Sinha is indeed a brownie point for BJP.
As they say, there’s always a next time. And Nitish too would roar back with the same fervor but a sexier avatar to affix his victory in next polls, if not 2015.
