As a Kid Amit Always Wanted to Be a Lawyer
Born on November 25th 1989 in Bangalore, Amit always wanted to be a lawyer ever since he was a little kid. What’s more, he argued a lot with his mother and also with others whom he met on a daily basis. This is the reason why he chose Lawyer as a profession, thinking it is better to pursue a career in something which he is good at. Next, he joined Law College.
Law Studies Didn’t Interest Him at all, He joined Theatre
After joining Law College Amit lost all the interest he had in law. Soon, he thought he should join theatre. Next, he got a chance to act in a play named ‘Sadarame’directed by B. Jayashree his mentor. The very first time he stepped on the acting stage he realized acting is his true calling.
He Then Started His Own Theatre Group
Amit Bhargav felt in love with theatre and this is the time when he decided to form his own theatre group ‘Pratikriyaa’ with the help of his friends and brother Abhay Bharghav. He also directed his first play ‘Mamamouchi’ which was a Kannada translation of Moliere’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme.’
At 18, He Was Selected For the Role of Lord Ram
After seeing Amit’s performance in his first play he was called for an audition. Several actors all over Karnataka auditioned for the role. However, it was Amit who was finalized for his role of Sri Rama in the mythological serial ‘Seethe-Rama Katha Hridayam. This is how Amit Bhargav became Lord Rama in a Kannada serial at the age of 18.
He Studied Learnt and Started Reading Tamil to Act in Tamil Films
When Amit’s brither introduced him to Tamil Cinema he got interested in it. Soon he shifted from Bangalore to Chennai and acted in three films – Yennamo Yedho, Vizhi Moodi Yosithal and Gautham Menon’s film along with Anushika Shetty and Ajith.
He Has Also Done a Bollywood Film
Remember Alia Bhatt’s suitor Harish in 2014 Bollywood flick ‘2 states?’ Well, that was Amit Bharghav. It was Amit’s first role in a Hindi movie.
He Is Also a Voice Over Artist
In the year 2014, Amit lent his voice to Bigg Boss Kannada 2 for Asianet Suvarna. Later in 2013, he also lent his voice to Abhimanyu Singh’s character in the hit movie ‘Thalaiva’. What’s more, Amit was also scripts for short play in his free time.
