Avika Entered TV Industry at the age of 11
Avika Gor was born on 30th June 1997 in a Gujarati family. When she was 11 she started walking ramps for Ginni and Johnny. Before doing Balika Vadhu, Avika was seen in many serials on different channels in small roles. She did NDTV Imagine’s Rajkumar Aryan as the young Rajkumari Bhairavi who grows up and become Yami Gautam. She also did Karam Apna Apna, Chalti Ka Naam Gaddi and Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshini.
As Roli in Sasural Simar Ka
After taking a break from small screen for a year, Avika entered the TV industry with a matured role. She is seen as Roli in Sasural Simar Ka opposite Manish Raisinghani. Although there is a huge difference between Avika and Manish, the two share an amazing chemistry.
She Has Done Several Bollywood Films
In 2009, she played the role of Gargi in a Bollywood Film by Arup Dutta. Here she was seen as Anupam Kher’s granddaughter and Rajat Kapoor – Divya Dutta’s daughter. She also starred in Shahid Kapoor – Ayesha Takia starrer Paathshala as one of the 6 kids in the school. The film was released in 2010. Avika was more than happy to do the film because Shahid is her favorite actor besides Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Two years later in 2012, Avika essayed the role of Piya Raina in Tezz where she played the role of Boman Irani’s daughter.
Avika Gor in South Indian Film Industry
In the year 2013, Avika made her debut in Telugu Film Industry with the film Uyyala Jampala. Her she was seen in a leading role as Umadevi along with co-star Raj Tarun. The movie was appreciated both by critiques and viewers alike. Then again last year, she was seen in another Telugu film – Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki. Here, she was seen with Naga Shourya.
Avika also made her debut in Kannada Film Industry with the movie – Care of Footpath 2 in 2014.
Awards and Recognition
Avika won several awards for her role of Anandi in Balika Vadhu. For consecutive three years, she won Television awards. What’s more she even won 12th Rajiv Gandhi National Awards as young prodigy. She was also honored the Face of the Year Award in Vietnam. Balika Vadhu is number 1 show in Vietnam.
Her Future Plans
As Anandi, when she was asked about what she would like to become once she grow up, she said she wanted to participate in beauty pageants, and become Miss Universe one day. However, now it seems that the actress wants to pursue a degree in Mass Communication or Film Making. Right now, the 17 year old actress is managing both studies as well as acting.
