Rs. 2.5 Billion (US$40 Million) – Yes that much amount has been spent in filming Baahubali! The initial budget of the film was only 100 crore or 1 Billion, however when the shooting commenced and film reached midway, the makers soon realized that the money won’t be enough. Soon, the budget of the movie was upraised to Rs 150 crore. Yet, while filming war sequences, the director Rajamouli found himself short of finances and soon the budget was raised. In the end, the total budget of Bahubali is said to be around Rs. 2.5 Billion which is Rs. 250 crore.
It is a War Film Set in the Ancient Indian Kingdom
A fictional story, Baahubali is all about wars in the kingdoms The movie will narrate the story of two warring brothers who will battle it out to control an ancient Indian kingdom. The protagonist here will have lot of muscle power and so the movie is titled as Bahubali meaning “The One With Strong Arms.” The movie is even called as Indian version of Hercules, 300 and Troy, however, the makers insist that the movie has no connection with these Hollywood blockbusters and any resemblance would be purely coincidental.

The shooting of the film started on July 3, 2013 and continued till April 7, 2015, So, it took almost two years to complete the film. The amount of hard work that the entire team has put into the film is not only worth appreciating, but is also commendable. SS Rajamouli is the director of the film. He is the same person who directed the Bollywood movie Makhhi, the dubbed version of Eega.
