Anjana aka Anjani had a very important role in Hanuman’s upbringing. She taught the powerful Hanuman how to be humble and kind all the time. This is the reason why we see Hanuman as a modest person throughout Ramayana. While, Durga Khote became Anjana in 1976 film Bajraangi, we had no modern version of her in the recent years until we saw Barkha Bisht as Hanuman’s mother. And to be honest, she is just fab.
Here we share our reasons why we simply love Barkha Bisht as Anjana
Barkha Bisht’s acting as Anjana
The way she speaks, performs, smiles, everything seems to be just so perfect. In mythological serial actors often end up doing overacting, however, Barkha’s acting is apt. She has not just impressed the fans but also the critics. While, we doubted Barkha Bisht as Anjana during the casting, I must say she has proved what a brilliant actor she is.
Barkha Bisht’s Expressions
Every time Hanuman does something the expression on her face and the emotion in her eyes speaks everything. Whether she is sad when Hanuman is in difficulty, happy because of something or in a confused state if something is bothering him, her eyes, face and body language does all the talking. We are glad we got to see such Anjana who can remain glued in her minds forever.
The bond she shares with her son Hanuman – it looks so real
The two – Barkha Bisht and Ishaan Bhanushali look like they are real mother and son. The bond between them is very strong as Anjana and Hanuman. Not every time in mythology we get to witness such strong bonds between two people that we actually start feeling for them. We love them so much together that their separation (which will happen later) has started haunting us ever since Urvashi has come down.
The Way She Depicts her Emotions
When Hanuman was hurt she kept a fast, did tandav, cried and even remained unconscious for days in the serial. In each of the steps, the way she depicted her emotion was not just excellent but praise worthy. Though it is the script writers and dialogue writers that provide Barkha with all that she says and does, but one cannot simply deny the way she puts life in everything that is given to her by the makers.
She as Anjana is a Role Model to Several Modern Moms
Barkha Bisht hesitated taking the role of Anjana because she was expected to play the role of both child Hanuman – Ishaan Bhanushali and elder Hanuman. However, she accepted to play and we all know what a right decision she took. We cannot imagine anybody else in the serial as Anjana. No wonder, she is being role model both as Anjana and Barkha Bisht inspiring mothers all about parenting, life lessons and the guidance that all mother needs while their children are growing up.
My neighbor’s 4 year old is in love with TV’s Anjana and listens carefully to her whenever she guides Hanuman. Listening to her carefully surprisingly he now knows why he should listen to his mother always. Now that is such a huge accomplishment for Barkha. Kudos!
