AndTV’s comic caper Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai became an instant hit the moment it was aired on the channel. Thanks to the creative team, writers and the brilliant cast of the serial especially Shilpa Shinde who has been rocking the show as Bhabiji Angoori Tiwari.
Simple and traditional Angoori Tiwari is the USP of the show who can make anybody smile with her unique antics.
Angoori Tiwari of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is a humble and sweet housewife who lives with her husband and his brother in Kanpur. She has a Bhojpuri accent which is quite unique and is funny in its own way. Her world revolves around her husband and family. She worships her husband and to live up to his standards she even tries to speak English but end up making fool of herself by uttering half-baked English.
When somebody corrects Angoori she humbly responds “Sahi Pakde Hain” in her Bhojpuri accent by stretching the “Hain” part. The story behind “Sahi Pakde Hain” is interesting. Shilpa wanted to have her own catchphrase.
However, nothing interested her. Next, she suggested the writers to come with a phrasse which she could use when someone corrects her English. The writer came up with ‘Sahi Pakde Hain!’ Next, the director of the serial decided to give this catchphrase a try and rest is history how the phrase became a trademark with ‘Bhabhi Ji’.
Angoori Tiwari aka Shilpa Shinde’s Dialogues
Almost all her dialogues are rib-tickling especially her “Haye Daiya”. The funny part is that she calls her husband Ladoo Ke Bhaiya. Ladoo is Angoori’s brother-in-law who is more like a son to her. The two share a close bond as that of mother and son. This is the reason everytime Angoori’s husband Manmohan Tiwari tells anything to Angoori, Ladoo comes in between by becoming her shield.
She has a Child-like Innocence
Her neighbor Vibhuti Mishra keeps on flirting with her. However, the simple Angoori Tiwari never understands his intentions. She responds to him naturally without even realizing that he is trying to woo her. Her child-like innocence is a pleasure to watch. One cannot stop smiling and giggling by seeing her in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Moreover, being very traditional though she loves her husband Tiwariji (or should I say Laddo Ke Bhaiya) she cannot express her feelings with him openly.
By Seeing Her Dedication, And Commitment towards Her Husband
Typical bhartiya nari, Angoori Tiwari believes that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. This is the reason why she keeps on making new dishes to feed her husband on a daily basis. The chemistry between Angoori and Manmohan is not just funny but also interesting especially when Vibhuti Mishra, their neighbor comes in and tries to woo Angoori.
Although Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai is an interesting, funny and an entertaining TV series, one cannot simply stop appreciating Shilpa Shinde for her excellent portrayal as Angoori Tiwari. No wonder, Shilpa has been winning hearts with her acting and smile. Finally we must say that, ‘Sahi Pakde Hain &TV!’
