Based on the original Dutch Bigg Brother format developed by John Del Mo; the Indian version has managed to woo the audience since its inception scoring high on the TRP charts.

Owing to the hectic schedule and choc block dates of the actor, the show was launched a month prior to its regular October slot. The first promo was launched in July with a number of vignettes being aired and an extensive promotional campaign across the country, the producers seem to have shed a lot of money and left no stone unturned to build up the anticipation among the masses. The host wasn’t far behind; Salman Khan was also seen going all out to create anticipation towards the show; from shaking a leg on Jhalak Dikhlaja to talking about it on several social media platforms.

A celebrity couple, a daily soap queen, a video-jockey and a British-Indian actress were among the celebrities who entered the ‘Bigg Boss’ house on Sunday, and it seems that in their battle to survive for over three months they will serve a lot of drama from fighting over the loo and food to bitching and backstabbing; a daily overdose of Bollywood Masala awaits us. Salman Khan, who is hosting the show for the fourth consecutive season, threw open the doors of the house and welcomed the guests.

Based on the theme of ‘HELL’ and ‘HEAVEN, the house has been divided into two parts. It’s separated by a wired mesh and like its name the hell side is low on the comfort level.

It was Tanisha Mukherjee who entered the house; first introduced by her mother, yesteryear actress Tanuja, and her sister, Bollywood star Kajol refuting media reports of their reservations of her being a part of the show. VJ Andy followed her and both, Tanisha and Andy, who took the Heaven side of the house, were given the task to allot HEAVEN or HELL to other inmates.

As per the powers assigned to them they decided to sent Gauhar Khan, Shilpa Agnihotri, Rajat Rawail (the second exit from the show – for health reasons apparently),Sangram Singh and Anita Advani to HEAVEN, Ratan Rajput, Apoorva Agnihotri, Kushal Tondon, Hazel Keech (the first exit from the show), Kamya Punjabi, Elli Avram (who apparently looks like a “young” Katrina Kaif – Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend for those who have been living under a rock), Pratyusha Banerjee and actor Armaan Kohli were sent to HELL side of the “Bigg Boss” house.

This year the “Bigg Boss” house has been erected in Lonavala and contestants will be locked inside for 105 days.

Many of the contestants share close proximity with the host which seemed to be the reason of them entering the show;whether popular or talented, one can’t be for sure.

Pitted against high TRP Saas-Bahu  TV serials like Diya Aur Baati and Qubool Hai on a prime time slot. Bigg Boss – Saath Saath in its seventh season seems to be the perfect TV serial drama very much on the line of a Hindi Masala potboiler with an ensemble and colorful star cast. With Salman Khan as the host, the house with the so-called bifurcated Heaven and Hell sets an ideal backdrop for the contestants to behave and misbehave in the name of entertainment.

In its Seventh Season; Bigg Boss has had its own share of controversies with accusations of Manipulations, Rigged Evictions to Pre-scripted Conduct of Housemates. There have been several media reports from manipulations, rigged results to favouritism by the host towards specific contestants. The show has managed to attract many eyeballs from the media and the people; though the wrong way.

Unlike the previous seasons, this time there are 15 contestants including a dog which will soon be making an entry into the house. But going by the first few episodes, it seems that the show has been formatted with every housemate playing a role or to say a ‘character’ which, of course, mirrors their real lives.

Unlike the previous seasons, this time there will be a big line up of guest entries every week. As per reports, ex-contestants like Dolly Bindra, Imam Siddique, Sambhavna Seth, and Rakhi Sawant will be entering the Bigg Boss House once again adding spice to the usual dope of plotting, fights, scheming and clash of egos and personalities.

The popular reality show this time will manage to rake in eyeballs and enough publicity to make these celebrities household names in the coming months. But this season seems to be too predictable. Nevertheless, the show surely promises a fresh change from the regular TV shows on air.

The first two weeks were fairly interesting; nothing worth mentioning but this has always been the case with every season; a silent breeze before the Big storm.

Bigg Boss 7 has gotten off to a good start and the Next Three Months promises a lot of entertainment for the audience. This Heaven seems like a Hell of a Ride!!
