  1. The BJP is doing everything possible to ensure that their 16 year long drought in Delhi is finally at an end. With the polls looming and the voters preparing to cast votes in just two weeks, there is a distinct sense of urgency in the BJP campaign currently.
  2. The central leadership and the BJP’s cabinet ministers have also been tasked with the party’s campaign in the country’s capital. BJP leaders such as Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and Shahnawaz Hussain have been roped in for campaigning. Reportedly Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister Anant Kumar are also overseeing poll preparations.
  3. Senior BJP leader and MP Kirit Somay and Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Mahesh Sharma are also on the campaign trail. More than 70 BJP MPs have been assigned various different constituencies in the nation’s capital to ensure the best possible outcome for the party. (Source)
  4. It was perhaps the recent opinion poll that showed the AAP’s edge over the BJP that could be responsible for the party’s frenzied campaign activity.
  5. There is also the perception that para-dropping Kiran Bedi into the poll fray at the 11th hour and the resultant discontent within party ranks could hurt the fortunes of the BJP; so efforts are now being redoubled.
  6. According to the latest reports, the party’s topmost strategists, i.e. Amit Shah and Arun Jaitley have now assumed direct control of the poll battle with their arch rivals, the Aam Aadmi Party. A carefully chosen group of party members will be micro managing each part of the election campaign.
  7. It is expected that PM Narendra Modi will also enter the fray in the final leg of the campaign. He will be addressing 4 rallies across the capital just before the people go to the polls so that these have the maximum impact on the electorate. (Source)
  8. At Delhi’s Khan Market, there is an innovative Selfie with Modi program on. This is meant to connect to the youth and help with the party’s ongoing membership drive.
