Off late Colors’ Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat is being compared to the famous American TV Series Game of Thrones. Although one is fantasy, the other is historical fiction, there comes a moment when you can’t stop thinking about Game of Thrones while watching Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. The serial is neither an inspiration nor a remake still it has quite a lot of resemblance.
Here we share some:
The Sudden Deaths
Game of Thrones has a habit of leaving us in shock when it kills the pivotal characters. Then whether it was Eddard “Ned” Stark’s death in its very first season or the death of Jon Snow in Season 5, each of the death we witnessed (so far) was not only unexpected, but also sudden.
If you watch Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, you’ll see here too the situation is more or less the same. We have seen many deaths in the serial including Agnishika, Ugrasen and Vahramir’s. Rajkumar Justin who is loved so much by the viewers will die too as Bindusar has given him death sentence for his rajdroh.
Like Game of Thrones, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat too has its own share of betrayals. We saw how Selecus Nicator deceived Ujjani king Rajaji Raj when their plan was caught red handed. Soon followed Rajkumar Sushim’s betrayal, he betrayed the girl he loved Rajkumari Ahankara as soon as he got to know that he can use her as a pawn to impress his father Samrat Bindusar.
There are not one but many cases of infidelity in Game of Thrones. Just like Cersei Lannister, Rani too is betraying her husband by sleeping with his brother Rajkumar Justin. What’s more, just like Cersei Lannister she too has a kid (Siamak) from her lover Justin whom she is posing as Samrat Bindusar’s son. Siamak who considers Justin as his guru have no clue about the truth.
The Characters More or Less Have the Same Traits
Rajkumar Sushim is one of the most hated characters in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. The fans simply love to hate him for his atrocious nature. He surely appears more or less like the villainous Joffrey Baratheon, the heir of Robert Baratheon. Although Rajkumar Sushim is a historical character, his traits more or less match with that of the cruel Joffrey. Maybe coincidence, but according to history, Sushim too will have a painful death just like Joffrey. What’s more, the way Justin slapped Sushim reminded us of Tyrion slapping Joffrey.
VFX and Grandeur
Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat might not have those Dragon flying or the Battle scenes in the waters, but the VFX that has been displayed in the serial is so far the best exhibited on Indian Television. Everything from the special effects to the background music and animation is simply magnificent. In addition, if you see the sabha room of the Palace it will only remind you how grand the set of Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat is.
You too feel there is a connection between the two TV Serials? If yes, do tell us what is the similarities which you have noticed so far…
