I am not sure which is more appropriate of a word to describe Chhatisgarh Govt who, invoking a 1968 clause, issued a notice to IAS Officer Amit Kataria for greeting PM Modi in a dress shirt (without a jacket and a tie) or“bandhgala” on May 9th.
Everybody I talked to, believe the officer looked smart, crisp and extremely decent on above 40 C heat day in Bastar. If being comfortable and NOT stinking of sweat is a crime in India, he certainly is guilty. On the other hand, Narendra Modi himself is making a fashion statement in short sleeve kurta! Also, since when is it a crime while outdoors, to use sunglasses to protect one’s eyes from harsh sunlight?
It gets even better than this …. Modi himself (and the only one in the room) seen wearing dark glasses while indoors!
Or, this one, very recently.
I think I am unnecessarily making much ado about nothing. I forgot, Kataria is not a movie star!
But it is OK for Modi to escort US President while wearing dark glasses!!
I am glad Modi never met Mahatma Gandhi, otherwise the Chhattisgarh Govt would have killed him for showing up without a shirt!
