Reader’s voice on why Congress has no basis for it’s claim over Sardar Patel’s legacy.

The present Congress Party has no business to claim the legacy over Sardar Patel. Sardar Patel was a member of Indian National Congress Party which had the election symbol of Bulls & Yoke and that party was brutally butchered and buried by Indira Gandhi in 1971, eliminating all those prominent leaders of that time and formed a new party Indian National Congress (Indira) with an election symbol of a Cow & Calf. Even though she formed a new party, it had some democratic characteristics and had so many leaders of the previous congress party as its leaders. But once again in 1980, Indira Gandhi split the party to form a separate party with dynastic characteristics instead of democratic ones called the Indian National Congress (Indira) with an election symbol of a Hand. So the Indian National Congress (I) with the symbol of Hand has no business to claim legacy over Sardar Patel.
