Undeniably, Shashi Tharoor is one of the better speaking (better looking, better dressing, better educated) Indian Ministers but he just doesn’t know when to say what, to whom, and where.

  1. While I would have welcomed an opportunity to respond to it and draw the attention of the AICC leadership to the full range of my statements and writings…I am now treating this matter as closed…”So says the newly sacked AICC spokesperson – Shashi Tharoor.
  2. He is being ‘disciplined’ for praising the current Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi and his “SwachhBharat”campaign. But of course he would never have imagined that it would not go down well with the top brash…err…brass of Congress party who are still pondering over the reasons of their massive fallout in the general election and probably are busy preparing for more.
  3. His only fault(this time around)was that he dared to speak the truth. Instead, he should have – like the rest of the opposition – made tasteless mockery of every single initiative of the Prime Minister.This, however, is not the first time that Mr. Tharoor has surrounded himself in controversy.
  4. Some of them include (but not limited to): His staying in a five star hotel while his house was being renovated (well of course he ‘wasn’t’ using the public funds). Him describing the economy class as the cattle class. The Mistaken(ly) (ex) Spokesperson Mr. Shashi Tharoor
  5. His statement that people should rather be working than holidaying on Gandhi Jayanti. He had openly criticized visa guidelines adopted by the Indian Government in the wake of 26/11 terrorist attack. Calling Saudi Arabia as an interlocutor between India and Pakistan.He had once criticized Gandhi and Nehru for their vision (or the lack of it).
  6. His infamous stint in the IPL. His acquaintance-friendship-relationship-marriage to Sunanda Pushkar. Mehr Tarar, the Pakistani columnist, complimenting him (which ‘apparently’ didn’t go well with Sunanda.    The Mistaken(ly) (ex) Spokesperson Mr. Shashi Tharoor

  8. Perhaps he should resign to full-time writing. Maybe there he will get the creative freedom that his views deserve. Whatever it may be,spokesperson is the last position he should ever be in.
