Arjun Kirloskar – we still remember the name, don’t we? Well, that’s Rithvik Dhanjani – every time he comes on screen, he makes sure the viewer remember him forever. No wonder, whatever Rithvik does – acting, dancing or anchoring, he just wins our heart effortlessly.

Rithvik Dhanjani Did Theatre in Dubai before Coming to the Mayanagri
Born in Madhya Pradesh on November 5, 1988, Rithvik’s family moved to Dubai soon. He did his schooling in Dubai and graduation from City of London College. Right from his college days he was into acting, modeling, hosting shows and organizing events, though it was not on a commercial scale. Later, while in Dubai, he also did theatre for as long as two and a half year.
He Came To Mumbai with Dreams of Becoming An Actor
After doing theatre, Rithvik came to Mumbai to become an actor. Though he had no relatives here in Mumbai, he met one of his friends from Dubai and stayed with him as a paying guest. He also did his acting course from the famous Kishore Namit Kapoor institute before entering the TV industry. You would be surprised to know that Rithvik once weighed 113 kg and was highly overweight but his dedication towards his work made him transfer to what he is today.
Rithvik Appeared for 10 to 12 Auditions every day before getting his big break
After completing his acting course, Rithvik got started with the job of auditions. The actor in his struggling days used to give 10 to 12 auditions on a daily basis. He, now, however thinks that’s 80% of these auditions were bogus.
He Also Did Modeling before Joining the TV Serial Industry – His First was an Airtel Ad for FIFA
It was year 2010 and Rithvik got his first advertisement for which we was a paid a mere Rs. 5000. Later, he got several ads including Jaquar Lights, Vascon, Sprite, Lipton (for Pakistan) and also Lays ad for 2011 Cricket World Cup.
He Has Two Short Films to His Credit
Besides, modeling and theatre, Ritvik also did two short films – Aftermath Mumbai and another feature film called Jo Hum Chahein. In the later, he was seen doing a negative role. For Rithvik, acting is his first call. However, had he not been an actor, he would be perhaps a choreographer or a magician!
In Dubai, He Choreographed Sonu Sood, the villain of Dabbang!
While, doing theatre and helping his dad in his business, the multi-talented Rithvik started choreography too. It was during this time, he even got a chance to choreograph none other than the villain of Dabbang Sonu Sood during his visit to Dubai for promoting his International Film City of Lights. Later, Rithvik participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5.
He Never Wanted To Do Television Until He Got a Call from TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor
Rithvik wasn’t keen to do TV Serials but then he got a call from Balaji Telefilms’ head Ekta Kapoor who announced that he was shortlisted for their serial Pyar Kii Ek Kahaani. In addition, she also added “you have something in you”. This not only surprised Ritvik but also shocked him, but happily he became Jay Khuran of Pyar Kii Ek Kahaani and that’s how he bagged his first serial. Next, was of course Balaji’s long running show Pavitra Rishta, which not only gave him name, fame but also a life partner in the form of Asha Negi.

After Pavitra Rishta, Arjun has been a lot into anchoring. He hosted Zee TV’s India’s best Draamebaaz, and DID Dance Ka Tashan. He is currently hosting Channel V’s Distraction. Soon, he will be also seen hosting Nach Baliye 7 with Karan Patel. Ritvik was winner of Nach Baliye 6.
