Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is a serial based during the 1940s India and so the story focuses entirely on the pre-independence aura. While, we are impressed with the pre-independence setting in the show, something that pleases our eyes is the innocent Gayatri Seth, a daughter of a rich money lender Govind Seth.
Here we share our reasons why Gayatri Seth (Drashti Dhami) is the ideal daughter of Indian TV in present times:
She Shares Good Relationship with Her Parents
Drashti Dhami as Gayatri Seth is an ideal daughter on TV screen. She not only shares good relationship with her parents but also considers them a lot. This is the reason why in spite of not being ready for the marriage with the 56 year old Damodar she says yes.
What’s more, her mother is angry with her and says lot of things which she should not, yet she doesn’t reply her back. We know it is India in 1940s where girls didn’t retort against their parents yet Gayatri’s decision to listen to her mother without going against her is commendable.
Gayatri Seth Acknowledges the Generosity of Her Parents
Gayatri Seth’s life is not like other girls. Her parents gave her all the freedom unlike the other girls of Amerkot. She was not only allowed to read and write but also got the permission to roam out regularly. Now, though her mother thinks that this freedom has gone into her head, the truth is Gayatri knows that her parents have been generous to her all the while and she acknowledges their generosity.
She is Affectionate
Drashti Dhami as Gayatri Seth is very affectionate. Whenever she is happy you can see her hugging her mother or sharing her happiness with her father. She shares a great bond with both her parents especially her father Govind Seth who loves Gayatri unconditionally. She loves her entire family including her two selfish sister-in-laws who cannot stop taunting her time and again.
Though she has Freedom, She Knows Her Limit
Gayatri has got all sort of freedom in her life right from the very start. However, not even once, did she misuse it. She always utilized her freedom to do right things including going to a library to read books to gain knowledge. Gayatri knows that not all girls get the liberty which she is getting in her house that is why she knows her limits very well and so she has never crossed it.
It is altogether a different story that her mother thinks that she has broken her trust by loving a boy (Ranaji). However, the truth is it is just a one sided love and Ranaji is not even aware of her feelings.
Gayatri Can Never Go Against Her Parents’ Wishes
Though Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) was disappointed with her mother’s decision, she didn’t object. The reason? Well, she respects her mother and do not want to go against her even though she knows her mother’s decision is taken in haste.
Instead of creating a scene, Gayatri (Drashti Dhami) simply walks up to her father and tries to convince him to stop all this. Now only an ideal daughter can think patiently like Gayatri Seth. What do you think?
