Everything that glitters is not gold. Just because the vegetables are appealing to your eyes doesn’t mean they are healthy.Say no to artificially ripening.

Way back in 1973 when I was doing my degree course, I visited a dentist for ‘whitening’ my yellow-stained teeth.I haven’t since forgotten what he told me then’Young man, don’t be fooled by looks! If your tooth looks yellow,it means they are natural and normal that way.Why do you want to whiten it?’His reply did set me in thought. Why are we after looks always?Do looks certify quality?Let us take a close look.

Those sexy tomatoes shining in the market !

As we all go for purchase of vegetables in the market,we are specially swayed by the warm orange look tomatoes, glossy apples and vegetables boasting attractive and well-defined shapes. Many of us might not had the occasion, I had ,to watch the vegetable-wallah stealthily injecting water by a syringe ,into each weak tomato to make them look rounded and in shape! Apples are also finely waxed on the surface for a sexy inviting look! Many well-shaped vegetables and fruits are not natural and their shapes are influenced by chemical treatments which can give you ‘a seed of cancer ’as a free offer!

Follow The Principle of Manna !

Those of you who are familiar with the Bible story of Prophet Moses leading the Israelites to the promised nation of Canaan, would know  what ‘manna’ is.Moses was leading about 20 lac Israelites through the tough hot terrains of desert ,over a period of 40 long years of wandering.Imagine 20 lac people moving, tenting in hot desert area, their whopping food and water needs! God was faithful and miraculously took care of their food needs. As the ‘largest catering order’ever undertaken, every morning God  rained down thousands of pieces of a ‘dish’ called ‘manna’ from the heavens.

What is ’Manna’?

“During the forty years between the time the Israelites left Egypt and entered the Promised Land, they faced harsh conditions, including a scarcity of food. To alleviate this problem, God miraculously provided the Israelites with “bread from heaven,” called “manna.” The manna appeared each morning, and the Israelites were given specific instructions on gathering it (see Exodus chapter 16). What was manna? Interestingly, the Israelites asked the very same question: “When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, ‘What is it?’ For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, ‘It is the bread that the LORD has given you to eat’” (Exodus 16:15). The Hebrew word translated “manna” literally means “what is it?”

The Bible nowhere discusses the chemical composition of manna. All we are told is that “it was like coriander seed, white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey” (Exodus 16:31). Numbers 11:7 states that manna’s appearance was like “bdellium” or “resin.” Psalm 78:24 refers to manna as “grain from heaven,” and the next verse calls it “bread of angels.” So, manna seems to have been literal bread that God caused to miraculously appear each morning during the Israelites’ wilderness wanderings. The miracle of manna ceased shortly after the Israelites entered the Promised Land (Joshua 5:12)”

The conditions imposed on collection and eating of ‘Manna’ by God is as under:

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. People are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.  On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.”Exodus

Manna should not be kept overnight for eating next day.

“However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them.”Exo 16.20

From the conditions imposed,we may draw the following qualities of ‘divine food’:

1)      Prepared every day ‘fresh’

2)      To be consumed fresh and not to be eaten next day even

3)      Rots immediately,if kept for more than a day

The ‘food’ we eat today miserably fails the above conditions.Today’s food, especially the ‘packed and processed food’ contains ‘preservatives’ which is designed to prevent the food from ‘rotting’ ,the natural way of eliminating and declaring a ‘food’ unfit for human consumption.Even the so called ‘mineral water’ cannot sustain any form of life,as proved by its unduly long shelf-life.’Good water’ produces ‘life’ and sustains it.So ,due to commercialization, the water we drink these days is devoid of life.Try filling your fish-tank with ‘mineral water’ once. All the fish in the tank are bound to find their watery grave, for sure!

Lets Go for chemical-free food !

Let not ‘the looks’ influence your decisions.Mind it,a ‘good-looking’ girl, need not be a ‘healthy girl’.We know a very beautiful girl ,who can attract any boy at the very first sight.Only her close relatives know that she has a serious diabetes problem, with sugar levels shooting upto 400 plus! She is a ‘sweet girl’indeed literally!Like wise attractive vegetables may have ‘carcinogenic content hiding in it.Let us go only for fresh food items  and sell off our fridges for good.Fresh’ is best for our body as designed by God.Go for ‘bad looking’  guavas, brinjals etc. and do not reject good vegetables based on their bad looks.Be happy if any item you bought rots fast.It means ,your decision is good !
