There’s a lot going on in the Colors TV daily soap Rangrasiya currently. We know that the show took a 7 year leap after killing of the protagonist Paro and reinstating actress Sanaya Irani as Paro’s lookalike Myra, someone born and brought up abroad, who comes to India to plan a destination wedding.
Recently the serial has taken some new twists with the lead pair of Rudra and Myra struggling with their feelings for each other, an unexpected new character’s addition to the action and even rumors that Rangrasiya will be ending this month; the last episode will be aired on 19th September 2014. Here’s the full Rangrasiya update –
The story post leap
Myra decides that she wants to live in Rudra’s house, for an authentic haveli experience. This brings her closer to Rudra’s son Dhruv, who is by now quite devoted to her.She also bonds with Maithili, recently giving her a makeover and helping her go on her first ever date with her husband.
Myra inevitably falls for the brooding Rudra, not knowing that she is a dead ringer for his deeply beloved dead wife. We also have some intimate scenes between Rudra and Myra when she is sedated after being captured by kidnappers and being rescued by Rudra. But then Myra sort of declares her feelings for him and he reacts with cruel rejection, completely breaking her heart.
The heartbroken Myra decides to leave but is compelled to return because Dhruv has fallen ill and needs Myra to take care of him. Soon Rudra has a change of heart, and is able to see Myra for the person she really is; not just some lookalike of his dead wife. She asks him for 3 qualities that define her; he gives her 6! So there is a definite softening of the stance here as Rudra starts to appreciate Myra before there is a sudden twist in the tale; something that completely shakes Rudra out of his complacency.
Unexpectedly, Myra’s best friend and fiancé arrives. Peeps, this guy is hot! He had to be, since he has to pose some realistic competition to the dashing Major Saab and has to make him feel insecure. The confident, uncomplicated, cheerful Rohit is an interesting contrast to the serious and brooding Rudra.
Myra has now announced that she and Rohit should get married soon. Why wait for a few weeks when it has been decided that they should get married? And Rohit agrees.
All this did not go down well with Rudra, who injured his hand when he gripped it around the broken shard of the teacup he broke accidentally. Clearly he is now jealous and tormented by what’s going on. Watch the full episode of Rangrasiya online here:
Is this the end?
If reports are to be believed, the last episode of Rangrasiya will be aired on 19th September, so the show will go on for just a couple of weeks more. While fans are livid at the Colors channel and there are a lot of hate comments, surely this is the right way for a serial to end; reach a happy, logical conclusion? Isn’t this better than serials going on for years, meandering aimlessly because of evil vamps and irrelevant subplots and useless, extraneous characters?
Sure the crackling great chemistry between the lead pair Sanaya Irani and Ashish Sharma will be missed; but script writers! Are you listening? Give us some more – create new stories, with a beginning, a middle and an end, with good characters, watchable drama; show that make us sigh a sigh of regret rather than snort in impatience.
