Looking at the blatant and shameless manner in which our so called Netas together with their supporters and goons, and irrespective of which political party they belong to are ganging up every day to make their own laws and rules and which are primarily to protect their own selfish, parochial, vested interests and those of their chamchas and families too. It is therefore time for all of us as patriotic Indians and as responsible citizens of this country and irrespective of our caste creed and religion to solidly join hands and rise together as one big potent force to tell our so called political Netas and that to in no uncertain terms that enough is enough and we won’t take it anymore.
The very fact that they have become a law unto themselves is quite evident and obvious. And the brazen and high handed manner in which they keep circumventing the various acts and bills that they have themselves introduced and which they now want to so desperately to amend. Therefore it only goes to prove and show that they care two hoots of what you think and I think and the poor voter and the Aam Aadmi thinks too. You and I are today are a nobody, but when the time comes for election we too for them will become VIPS. And then by announcing freebees they will pander us so that we cast our precious vote for this ungrateful and corrupt lot. And once they get elected as our representative to the various corporations, Vidhan Sabhas and the Indian Parliament they will only show us two fingers and we will soon be forgotten.
Till date and having made umpteen promises to the people, the members of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have failed conveniently and miserably to enact the much needed Lokpal Bill, the Whistleblower’s Protection Bill, the Greivance Redress Bill, and the much touted Judicial Acountability Bill. And now by shamelessly ganging up together to wriggle out of the RTI Act they have truly shown their real colours that they are the masters and we are only their slaves. And the feudal and autocratic manner by which they brow beat and treat our honest IAS and IPS bureaucrats and force them to follow their illegal diktat, these Netas today are nothing but a bunch of self centered corrupt group of people who only believe in looting the nation and encouraging corruption. So upright and honest government officers today if they open they mouth they are immediately shunted away. And if this is not sham democracy then what is it today.
The fact that the bureaucracy and the police are becoming totally spunk less can be attributed to the fact that they too have a family and they do not want to ruffle feathers. Because if they do they will be fixed in a day or two and maybe also forced to commit suicide or be disposed off by the politicians and their goons. And if this not a sham democracy I wonder what is it today.
And though the Supreme Court has ruled that criminals, murders, and history sheeters should be debarred from contesting elections, the political parties are once again ganging up to ensure that the order is nullified so that they can give these rogues the party ticket simply because they can win on big black money and muscle power. And this only shows the kind of rulers we are getting today and will be also getting in future. And if this is not sham democracy I wonder what is it today.
The many recent cases of our honest and hardworking IAS and Police officers who have been shunted and tossed around on the whims and fancies of some of our corrupt Netas and Ministers, only proves the point that joining politics has become totally a money making concern. And if the honest officer concerned shows even a bit of dissent then he or she is framed on false charges and put in the den. Isn’t this a sham democracy my friend.
And as far as the right to information is concerned it has become only the Netas right to tell you what is right and what is wrong. So even when the leader of a political party goes abroad for whatever reason it maybe, not only you as a common citizen but even her party members dare not ask. And if this is not a sham democracy I wonder what is. And whenever the government gets badly cornered they very cleverly and promptly form a high level committee and whose only job is to see that everything is put under the carpet. In order to remain in power they will even buy up the necessary MPs and the MLA’s with their black money power. And if this is not sham democracy then I wonder what is.
But the fact is that it is we the voters who elect such dubious, corrupt and criminal creatures and that is indeed rather absurd isn’t it. But it is still not too late to set things straight but it can only be done if we all take a solemn pledge to vote only for those who are truly honest and patriotic and who have the country’s interest uppermost in their minds and not their own and that of their family. Though it may become difficult to find such candidates but we have to make a beginning to change this corrupt system. So to begin with we must demand that if nobody is found suitable then we should also be given the option and the right to reject. In a true democracy it is always the voice of the people that must be heard and not of our so called Netas who when it comes to probing corruption, criminality, sycophancy, nepotism and accountability they all gang up and like cowards bend backwards and get together sheepishly to form a herd.
To begin with we must as citizens of this country on our 67th Independence call for an All India nationwide peaceful stir and convey to our so called Netas that they cannot always have it only their way. Therefore there is a requirement to submit a mass petition to the Honourable President that it is high time we held a national referendum that will force the political parties to come under the RTI Act, and under the Lokpal and that should be our first and foremost intention. This should then be followed with another national referendum to give the police and the CBI their much needed freedom to deal with all corrupt and criminal politicians. All parties will of course will object, but if they do not take the necessary steps to bring in transparency in their functioning then the people of this country also has the right to question their credibility and that is real democracy my friend.
And when one is reminded that the country’s motto is ‘Let Truth Prevail.’ One feels really ashamed as to how truth gets fabricated to suit the political parties and their nefarious and corrupt deals. And the latest I am sorry to say is the scandalous Westland Helicopter deal and the Robert Vadra mega land deal where the party has been told not to open their big mouth and if is this is not sham democracy then I wonder what is.
Is India a Sham Democracy ! And If It is so—then the time has now come to act !
