7th December 2014 is a memorable day in the archives of our nation, as the Indian Cricket Team celebrated their first-ever victory in the 4 editions of the Blind Cricket World Cup defeating Pakistan in the finals at Cape Town, South Africa!
Although Pakistan scored a whopping 389, our Indian team showcased their prodigious skills and chased the total of 389 to win the final match.
Good news is that each of these players were given a cheque of Rs. 5 Lakh back in India by Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. In addition they have been promised 2 Lakh more from Cabinet minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot.
Gehlot and Sonowal along with Cabinet Minister Ananth Kumar, welcomed the victorious team at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Hats off to these brilliant players for making Indians believe in the qualities of those who are ‘differently-abled!’

Mohammad Jaffar Iqbal is amazing! He has captained the East Zone Team. During his meeting with PM, he Told NaMo that he aspires to be a Teacher.
Ketan Patel, A phenomenal all rounder, he was selected to the team in 2006.
Dynamic Batsman and Fielder Ganesh is from Gujarat! He comes from humble background and is very hardworking
Farhan got encouraged from his friends, back home in Kerala. He is a very talented all – rounder
Dunna Venkatesh is a very good all rounder. His dream of playing India was fulfilled in 2011.

Ajay Kumar Reddy has played since 2002. In one of the matches against Karnataka he scored 75 and took 3 wickets.
Vishnu is an all-rounder. He is playing since 2004. Currently, he is also pursuing his MA.
Durga Rao is a true Champion. He lost his father at an early age.
PM Modi introduces as his friend from Harayana. He scored 2 big 50s against Sri Lanka in the league match and against Pakistan in the finals.
K Ramesh is an all rounder. He was selected as a Wicket Keeper in 2003. In one match, he scored 52 runs and took 5 wickets.
With Prakash Jayaramiah. He scored 149 in a match against England. He also scored 286 runs in Inter Zone Level against North Zone.
