Reader’s Voice-Who decides which leader is secular? Citing examples, our reader shows the double standards of our politicians in awarding the ‘secular’ title

We practice secularism wonderfully. Nitish is secular inspite of the fact that he refuses to cover his head in Gurudwaras as there is no Sikh vote bank in his state. He happily wears the skull cap at times, as Muslim voters are high in number.

Modi is communal only because he is from the BJP. Muslims in the state have the highest per capita income in the country, he sits under the Supreme Court & even courts absolve him of all charges. But no, our political functioning tells you that he is communal. So going by them, he is!
