The blatant, shameless and arrogant manner in which our politicians (our Netas) from every political party are taking the poor people of India and the country for a ride, I think the time has come for every patriotic Indian to speak out and that too very loudly and clearly that enough is enough. With no accountability whatsoever of their misdoings and with total irresponsibility towards those who had elected them and whom they had promised to serve, they have become not only a law into themselves but also a big liability to this country.
Law Makers Are The Biggest Law Breakers
The very fact that some of these so called law makers are also the biggest law breakers and that they always get away even with blue murder, attack on women, extortion, intimidation, kidnapping, cheating , money laundering – it only proves the point that they simply care two damn hoots for the common man and for the laws of the land. But since they profess to be leaders and are supposed to lead through example, the need therefore is to have fast courts to expeditiously deal with these shameless and disgraceful specimens of society and if found guilty to punish them even more severely. Because every time any such leader from any political party gets caught and exposed, the usual excuse given is ‘Arre Baba let the law take its own course.’ And more often than not because of witnesses turning hostile they not only get acquitted honourably, but some even get promoted up the political ladder and become Cabinet Ministers. And if the case is at all pursued and it is sent to the CBI for investigation, then the CBI which has been aptly described as a caged parrot, only waits to follow the dictates of their political masters and the powers that be. And ultimately nothing tangible ever surfaces. And if the CBI does the job of what they have been told to do by their political masters and which invariably means that they should shut their eyes, then they too qualify to become Governors, Ambassadors and Advisers.
Anna Hazare & Others Need To Come Forward
Therefore today what is again badly needed is for selfless and devoted patriotic leaders like Anna Hazare to once again come forward and take centre stage. And the youth of this country and on which not only the country’s future but their own future also depends must again cry out loudly for the need of a strong but just Lokpal and Lokayukta both at the centre and in all the states. But this should be done only peacefully . At the same time we have also to remind our politicians repeatedly that are elected to serve the nation and therefore all laws that are applicable to the Aam Aadmi is equally and more than not it is more applicable to them.
Constitution of India
The Constitution of India has clearly and unequivocally spelt out and it guarantees that all citizens will be equal before law. It therefore means that everyone will be equally protected by the laws of the country and no person whoever he or she may be is above the law. It also means that if two persons commit the same crime, both of them will get the same punishment without any discrimination whatsoever. Therefore there is today the urgency to ask our politicians (the Netas) and their parties to come clean and be honest and bold enough to clean their own stables first ,and also be transparent in telling the people under the RTI Act their source of funding and stop pretending to be the so called saviours of this nation. And last but not the least they must realize that they are accountable to the people who have elected them and not to their political masters. If those golden words “Satymeva Jayate’ (Truth Alone Triumphs) which is the country’s motto is to be religiously followed ,then they are the ones as leaders who should set the example first and they should stop lecturing the people on morality, honesty and propriety. They should not forget that someday, and that day is not very far when the truth about all their shady deals and irrespective of which party was responsible for it will come out into the open.
In 1975 to cover their tracks the Congress had very conveniently through a pliable President had declared emergency in the country . But soon it is going to be 2014 and therefore let us remind our politicians that enough is enough and the ball is now in their court. Therefore it is high time for them to stop taking the people and the country for a ride. The people must therefore raise their voices and insist that the right to reject candidates is also their fundamental right.
