Due to upcoming Independence Day celebrations, Jai Kisan Andolan takes a break

Allow me to share an old cartoon on Hal (harvesting tool of farmer) which needs a more sensible `hal` (solution) and serious suicide free handling as a sacred tool by traditional politicians engaged in Tu ! Tu ! Miy ! Miy !

Government forced to return the sacred Hal to farmers. Jai Kisan Andolan shelves its protest plans till 15th August.

HAL 1 Jai Kisan Andolan takes a Pause

As per Media Cell Press Release, August 12 of Swaraj Andolan.

Jai Kisan Andolan achieved another success today as the government agreed to return the plough (Hal) installation, the symbol of farmers pride. This large plough was illegally confiscated by the police in its brutal midnight operation and dumped at Parliament Street police station. In a series of meetings today, Delhi police refused to release the Hal. Jai Kisan Andolan threatened to begin a fast. However, the government relented in the evening. The LG conveyed the government’s decision to release the Hal. Jai Kisan Andolan thanks all the volunteers of Swaraj Abhiyan and other partner organisations for the successful struggle in this restoration of this symbol of farmer’s dignity.

The lieutenant governor shared his concerns about the security situation in the national capital over the next three days leading up to the Independence Day celebrations. Jai Kisan Andolan agreed to the LG’s request to not hold any public protest in the national capital during this sensitive period. As a responsible organisation, Swaraj Abhiyan cannot allow its programmatic calendar to interfere with genuine and credible national security concerns.

The satyagraha will continue at local and state levels wherever it does not clash with Independence Day preparations. Over the next two days, Jai Kisan Andolan will continue its campaign to pressurise the prime minister to acknowledge the truth of farmers suicide and propose a plan of action to achieve an India free of farmers suicide in his Independence Day address. After 15th August, Jai Kisan Andolan shall also resume its struggle for a farmers monument at the race course.
