Muslims traditionally have not taken cow meat but poor Muslims do have buffalo, camel meat etc as part of their diet. Animal protein is a good source of amino acids and its cruel to take the right of consuming meat from them. Most Muslims can’t afford milk, fruit, cheese etc and the same goes for dalits.
The rich Jain community will earn a lot of goodwill among the Muslims if it subsidises these foods in return for a ban on most meats
Such exchange offer between two communities is worth being implemented.
