Its great to see Bollywood stars come out and support charitable causes. Kalki Koechlin and Vivek Oberoi laid the ‘symbolic’ foundation for a new school to be built by a corporate house as part of its drive to renovate old schools and build new ones.
For Vivek charity begins at home. Both his parents Suresh Oberoi and Yashodhara Oberoi deeply believe in charity and have worked for educating slum children and cancer patients respectively for over three decades. Vivek’s long standing dedication to raising funds for charity, personal financial contribution and sheer hard work for the betterment of the under privileged and people stricken by natural disaster was nurtured in his own home.
Kalki Koechlin is born to to French parents Francois Armandie and Joel Koechlin and has lived a whole life in India, mainly in Tamil Nadu. In 2011 Kalki Koechlin received the best supporting actor award for her role in her debut film Dev D.
Kalki is respected greatly for her talent by the Bollywood film fraternity and has a promising future in this industry. She believs in chairty that empowers people by helping them build and nurture skills and talent that will give them a secure future. Hence eductating the underpriveleged is a cause close to her heart.
In a country where we give actors the status of DEMI GODS – it is encouraging to see the young and talented like Vivek and Kalki as great role models.
