From snakes, to dripping in a large water body and even scaling up high, Khatron Ke Khiladi season 5 is all about going fearless by overcoming phobias

Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi is back with a pinch of salt and pepper, bringing another season after a gap of 3 years. Here, unlike previous seasons there aren’t just daredevil dude and dudettes with a never to say die attitude, but also some nazuk kaliya, nakhrewaalis along with guys whom you cannot imagine doing a stunt, forget being a hero.

Oh yes, Season 5 – Darr Ka Blockbuster here comes with not just fear and adventure but lots of drama, nautanki and masti as well. After all it airs on Colors channel, drama toh chahiye hai boss. Not to forget, Rohit Shetty, the host and dost of this season adding up a bit of more of masala to the overall thrill. image 300x199 Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 5 From Phobias to Fearless This season, there is one section of participants from whom people have lot of expectations like Daya of CID, Thangabali (Nikiten Dheer) of Chennai Express and then there are participants like beauty queen Rochelle Maria Roa and Mugdha Ghodse who wants to prove they are certainly beyond beauty. Then again we have a pyari onscreen bahu Pooja Gaur who has surprisingly surprised her fans with hot pants, ganjis and bold avatar instead of adorning red sarees with pallus as Pratigya.

She was of course the star of the every first episode who won the challenge of Apple Pie against ‘Rochelle and Gauhar Khan. Oh yes, the Bigg Boss season 7 winner Gauhar Khan who is again seen here with her lover Kaushal Tandon. Looks like the two have flown all over from the sets of Lonavala to the sets of Cape town where Season 5 is currently being aired.

Coming back to Pooja and Apple Pie. Well, the sight of picking up an apple from a tank of 80 snakes was not only scary but also ridiculous. Just imagine those scaly creatures with their thonged tongues touching your face all over. While, Rochelle and Gauhar Khan looked promosing and confident they could not beat Pooja who did manage to escape the kisses of the snake and lift up as much as 7 whole apples. Pooja while doing the stunt simply looked professional and fantabulous. I was a bit surprise to see her doing the stunt so quick and fast, unlike her onscreen character.

Moving on to the next star of the episode 1 of Khatron Ke Khiladi 5 – Salman Yousuff Khan, the dancer cum choreographer. I never thought the person who could dance so gracefully on a stage could even do a stunt so gracefully. As quick as one two and three, the determined dancer managed to get hold of the egg up in the air by climbing on a rope from the water in the sea. It reminded me of Bollywood movies where the hero even though is late catches the villian who is trying to elope in a helicopter. To compete Salman were two other equally good performers who are well known for their stunts. However, both Daya and stunt woman Geeta disappointed their fans by not even managing to start the act which Salman could finish so gracefully.

The third and final act was very filmy where three men during their chance had to rescuse a girl named Mimo from a guy by jumping from one boat to the another in the stormy weather where the force of water was more than the speed of vehicles running in Mumbai. Out went into the water three dudes of the show – Rajnish Duggal, the chocolate boy, Niketan Dheer – The macho man and TV’s favorite hero as well as star – Gurmeet Choudhary. While the former two rescued Mimo the later rescued his wife Debolina. And I must say what a stylish rescue it was that too so quickly, giving the first episode a great end and of course raising our expectations for the next weekend episodes….

Ranvir Shorey was seen putting his comments on a timely basis while Mugdha’s ooh, aah, ouch was in full form as well. I couldn’t find Mahi Vij and husband Jay Bhanushali anywhere in the crowd. Seems like they aren’t participating in the show as earlier mentioned. Not that they were missed, I was just wondering their absence. All in all, a good episode and we just hope it gets better than each passing episode…
