She Worked With Hungama TV before Entering TV

Kratika was born in Kanpur on 3rd July, 1985. Her major time was spent in Kanpur from where she did her schooling. Later, she shifted to Delhi for her graduation. She graduated from DU – Delhi University. After completing her grads, she shifted to Mumbai. Next, she started working in an ad agency as a client servicing exec. She also worked with Hungama TV. It was during this time one of her friends working in a major TV production house asked her to give auditions for a leading show. This is how she entered in the Television industry.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was Her Debut Serial

The serial in which she tried her luck was none other than BALAJI Telefilms’ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She bagged the offer and did a cameo as Saanchi. A year later, she was also seen as “Sugandhi”. She worked just for a month in KSBKBT. Next, she got a role in Kasautii Zindagi Kay where she was seen as P2 (Prerna Junior), one of the grand daughters of the main lead Prerna (Shweta Tiwari). She was highly acknowledged for her role. She was Sneha and Omi’s daughter.

In Between Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Jhansi Ki Rani

From 2008 to 2010 i.e. after Kasauti and before Jhansi Ki Rani, Kratika was seen in various channels doing various sorts of roles. She did 9X’s Kya Dill Mein Hai as Naina where she received a lot of appreciation from the viewers. Apart from this, she also did a reality show – Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket, a cameo in another Star Plus show Kis Desh Mai Hai Meraa Dil as Simran, and two episodes of Aahat titled Khooni Haveli – I & II.

With Rani Ki Jhansi, Kratika became a household name – She was not only loved by the viewers but also the critics. This is the reason why she bagged various awards in different categories for her brilliant performance in this historical tale. Some of her awards include Best Fresh New Face (Global Indian Film and TV Award), Favorite Beti (Zee Rishtey Awards), Female Veer Character (BIG TV Awards) and Madhavrao Scindia Leadership Award.

She Is Married to Nikitin Dheer

She never wanted to marry an actor. But love as they say is never planned. She met Nikitin (Thangabali of Chennai Express) and the two fell in love. Nikitin Dheer is son of the famous Pankaj Dheer who was seen as Karna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat. The lovers married last year on 4th September 2014. It was a star-studded affair where TV and Bollywood personalities came in huge numbers, to wish the couple Good Luck.

Kratika in Films

Last year, Kratika did a film “My Father GodFather” which starred Sharad Malhotra along with her. This movie was a directorial debut of Pankaj Dheer, her father in law. She also did a short film Read My Silence.
