Mad in India 100% desi show is getting its momentum with each new episode. The jokes are now hilarious and so a genuine laugh is the instant reaction from the audiences unlike the first two episodes where we literally struggled to even smile, forget about laughing. Sunil Grover as Chutki is once more taking his position in the hearts of people. Aha, the man is geniuely talented and has a knack in him to create a laugh riot.
This Sunday, for a change we saw Chutki in jeans and tee. Oh yes, the behenji wanted to compete with the glam girls after all nothing can stop a determined girl when she decides to do something. With gajra, jhumka and bangles, Chutki came on the stage in jeans just like a behenji who all of a sudden plans to go modern. Her expression, style, and comic sense was flawless, making you easily fall for her antics. When she is asked by Manish Paul from where did she get this attire, she says her chacha was taking a bath and she instateously took advantage of the situation. Now though the jokes are simple it invokes the tingling effect and thats how a comedy show should be, isn’t it? If one doesn’t ompare this show with Comedy Nights With Kapil, then the show is indeed a hit but comparisons are bound to happen.
Next, came the guests – Dev D’s bewdi (alcoholic) Mahi Gill, 3 Idiots bewda Sharman Joshi and International Star Chunky Pandey with Rajpal Yadav in a cameo appearance to promote their movie Gangs of Ghosts. It was all about Shaman Joshi and Chunky Pandey with fans dancing on “Oye Laal Dupatte Waali Tera Naam To Bata” and very little about Mahi Gill. Nothing besides leg pulling acitally. It was rather funny to see how Sharman bagged 3 Idiots role by asking Rajkumar Hirani a role in the loo. I think I missed naming Shweta Tiwari here in the episode. The girl who started with prominent roles in Balaji Telefilms is acting here as a bimbo. This show is surely not for her as her acting skills deserves important role not that of a bombshell in short dresses showing her cleavage all the time.
In all, this episode was good, entertaining and fun to watch. Last heard, the channel is trying to pull Mad in India from Star Plus as the show is still not gaining enough profits of what was expected from it. It is said that the show will be replaced by Yo Yo Honey Singh’s singing show. I was just wondering the channels desperation to seek profit in the short term without looking for long term plans as I think the show can really outperform CNWK if given some moretime and effort.
However, even it goes off air the efforts of Sunil Grover will be well considered. No wonder, the comedian had the guts to take risk with his career to start something of his own when he was already well established elsewhere.
