Man Haron Monis was a refugee of Iranian descent, who escaped Iran to flee to Australia in 1996. Today, he is the man, who has held more than a dozen people hostage inside the Lindtt Café in Sydney since 9.54 am (local time).
Man Haron Monis, originally named Manteghi Bourjerdi, has had quite a terrorizing past. He had started a “hate mail” campaign against Australian troops in Afghanistan. He and his partner (girlfriend: Amirah Droudis) posted hate letters to the families of dead Australian soldiers. The extent of his outrage is such that in these letters, he calls the soldiers killed in the Afghanistan war between 2007 and 2008, as murderers and killers. In one letter he said, “a Digger was going to hell.”
This is not the only horrifying act of this man. Claimed by the Australian government in 2013, he has sexually and indecently assaulted about 7 women in 2002, under the wing of being a spiritual teacher and astrologer.
The man, is not yet proclaimed as a terrorist, but has committed another heinous crime. After being abducted for writing deplorable letters to the families of dead Australian soldiers, Monis was sentenced to 300 hours of community service and placed on a two year good behaviour bond.
He was not allowed to meet or call his children, since the Australian government was unsure of his character. Monis was charged with being an accessory before and after the fact to the murder of his ex-wife Noleen Hayson Pal. She was stabbed and set alight!
Today, he has been quoted as the “gunman” behind the siege in Sydney at Lindtt café. Some say he’s a self-proclaimed sheikh, and a rebel to oppression. In his website, he writes, that the Australian government, is trying to damage his image by false accusations, and also for putting pressure on him to stop his activity and keep him silent, but God willing Man Haron Monis will not stop his political activity against oppression.
Today, government officials all over the world and media houses, are trying to figure, the reason behind this wrong doing again.
He has been accused of deadly crimes before, but none like this. It is pretty intriguing, Monis, seems to be an outcome of an outrage against oppression! Not a part of any terrorist group, this man seems to be a self-made activist.
