A political satire ‘Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho’ starring Annu Kapoor, Om Puri, Hrishita Bhatt and Ravi Kishen is all set to release this Friday. The trailer of the film has been appreciated by both the viewers as well as prominent people in Bollywood including Rajkumar Hirani and Amitabh Bachchan. However, it seems that the Khap Panchayat is not at all happy with what has been shown in the trailer so far. This is the reason why a Khap Panchayat in the state of Uttar Pradesh has announced a reward of 51 buffaloes to behead the film director Vinod Kapri.
What is the Plot of the Film Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho?
Well, the film shows how an innocent man is wrongly accused for molesting and raping a buffalo Miss Tanakpur by a village bully, who later even persuades the Khap Panchayat to pass a verdict that he has to marry the buffalo who is a victim here.
While, everybody is taking the trailer on a lighter note as the film has a strong message to convey, the Khap panchayats are not at all cool about this. So annoyed are they, that have started giving death threats to the director who is now seeking police protection. What’s more, as mentioned above, a Khap panchayat in UP has even announced a prize of 51 buffaloes to anybody who kills the director.
The Controversy is Totally Uncalled For ~ Vinod Kapri
The director of the film “Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho” who still cannot believe that his political satire would give him death threats is clear that nothing in the film can cause any problems in the society. Further stating that, if there was anything wrongly shown in the film, then the Censor Board would have never passed it in first place.
“Government has formed a very credible institution with people who don’t approve content which can hurt sentiments. I would only request them to watch this film and I’m sure they would love it,” the director further added.
The Director is now worried about his family
The director who is constantly getting death threats by the Khap panchayats is not worried for himself, but his family who stays in Noida, UP. This is a busy week for the director since the movie is about to release. However, the director cannot stop but think about his family’s safety every time.
Is He Filing a Case against the Khap Panchayat’s Ruling?
When asked whether he would file a case against the khap panchayat, Vinod Kapri said “No!”. The director of Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho won’t lodge any complaint against the Khap. However, his only request to them is to first watch the film and then pass any judgement. It is his request that the elders sitting in the Khaps act responsibly, sensibly, and logically, before passing an immoral ruling like beheading as announcing a prize for killing someone is not only immature but illegal decision which is not at all expected from the experienced and elderly members of a Khap.
“I respect them and want to request them to be patient and not pass such immoral judgments without even seeing the film.” Is what the director further adds.
