The 50 year old Bollywood star even wrote a letter to Chennai’s Chief Minister Jayalalitha on behalf of Red Chillies and Team Dilwale –
While everybody started praising and appreciating SRK for his massive contribution, a certain faction seems to be highly disappointed. Well, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena affiliated ‘Chitrapat Karmachari Sena’ – The film wing of MNS is angry with Shah Rukh Khan, so much that they have appealed the people of Maharashtra to boycott his upcoming movie Dilwale in Maharashtra.
Why MNS is calling for Boycott of SRK starrer Dilwale?
According to Zee 24 Taas, the film wing of MNS has appealed the people of Maharashtra to give SRK’s upcoming movie ‘Dilwale’ a cold-shoulder because the actor didn’t help the drought affected farmers in Maharashtra.
This is what MNS’ Chitrapat Karmachari Sena chief Amey Khopkar said,
“Farmers in Maharashtra, especially in Marathwada, are reeling under drought. Khan, who has been residing in the state and has made a lot of money, has not helped farmers in distress. When his help is needed, he isn’t forthcoming.”
Party Leader Raj Thackeray Too is Backing the Boycott, Though He Has Maintained that CKS’s take is not an Official Stand of the Party
Though MNS Chief Raj Thackrey made it very clear that Chitrapat Sena’s appeal to boycott SRK’s film Dilwale is not the official stand of his party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, he didn’t leave any stone unturned in his attack on the actor.
He indirectly attacked Shah Rukh Khan and blamed him for everything. Here’s what he said –
“Shah Rukh Khan donated Rs 1 crore for people who have been affected by Chennai (floods) tragedy. But he has forgotten drought-hit farmers of Maharashtra. This has been condemned by the Chitrapat Sena. What it (Chitrapat Sena) is saying is right. Coming to Maharashtra, becoming big, earning a name for yourself and then forgetting the state is not right. He (Shah Rukh) should understand this. Nevertheless, I want to make it clear that Chitrapat Sena’s stand of boycotting the film is not an official stand of the party.”
MNS Is Not Seeking a Ban On Dilwale but Appealing Us to Boycott The Film
While the political party did little or nothing for the drought affected farmers in Maharashtra, they want people of Maharashtra to boycott Shah Rukh Khan’s film simply because he donated for the flood affected people in Chennai, and not for the farmer’s cause in Maharashtra.
While, SRK ducks the question, KRK went on a ranting spree in support of the actor

Interestingly, another Indore based group HRS – Hind Rashtra Sanghatan announced that the group will protest the screening of the film, not because they have problems with his donation, but because they didn’t like his comments on the intolerance debate. Meanwhile, FFI – Film Federation of India have met the police and civil authorities to take stern actions against HRS if they try to create problems, as the film has been cleared by the Censor Board.
Dilwale is all set to release on December 18th along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
