While Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan tried to cement India-Pakistan’s relation, his upcoming film Phantom will only destroy it. The reason being, Kabir Khan’s Phantom is a Bollywood political thriller where the protagonist plans to take revenge for 26/11 Mumbai Attacks. It is based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Mumbai Avengers with a prime focus on global terrorism.

Saif Ali Khan as Daniyal
Saif Ali Khan plays Daniyal an Indian agent who vows to get inside Hariz Saeed’s home, kill him on the spot, and take his revenge for attacking Mumbai. Hariz Saeed is a veiled reference to Hafiz Saeed, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief who is wanted in India for his involvement in the 26/11 attacks. Saif Ali Khan was earlier seen as an Indian agent in his home production Agent Vinod.
After New York and Ek Tha Tiger, Katrina Kaif is teaming up with Kabir Khan for the third time. Here too she is seen doing action sequence. Buzz is that the leggy lass have not used body double for the scenes. There is also an underwater action sequence shot by Katrina Kaif at the Orca Dive Club in Mumbai along with Saif Ali Khan. She even learnt Arabic for the film.
A recipient of Kalakar Awards, Sabyasachi has done several Bangla and Hindi movies. He was seen in 1998 film Dil Se as a terrorist then in Khakhee in Mira Nair’s The Namesake and in Parineeta as Saif Ali Khan’s father.
Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub
The Murari of Raanjhana will be seen in the film in a pivotal role. In the trailer of Phantom we see making him a comment, “No matter how many times they (Pakistan) attack, we do nothing except stop playing cricket with them.” This will be Zeeshan’s fourth film in 2015. Earlier this year he was seen as Raju in Dolly Ki Dolli, as Arun Chinttu Kumar Singh in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and his ‘All Is Well will release soon too.
The Writer – S. Hussain Zaidi
A former investigative journalist, writer Hussain Zaidi is known for his books which he has penned down over the years – Black Friday, Dongri to Dubai, Byculla to Bangkok, My Name Is Abu Salem and Mumbai Avengers. Phantom is based on Mumbai Avengers. He is the writer who even interviewed Dawood Ibrahim before writing Dongri to Dubai. Zaidi during his investigation in Iraq was also kidnaped in Baghdad once.

The Director – Kabir Khan
The film is directed by Kabir Khan who has given us two films earlier which dealt with terrorism – New York and Ek Tha Tiger. He is even the writer of the film along with Mohd. Salik. Kabir Khan also received rave reviews for his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan which promotes cross border peace and harmony.
