So, Ranbir Kapoor is going through a rough patch in his career. No matter which Bollywood film he is signing, all seems to be failing at the box office. Then whether it is Vikramjit Singh’s Roy or Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet nothing worked for him this year. While, he is sorting out where and why did he made suicidal career choices, the industry wallahs are not sparring him with jokes on him.
Here we share some of the jokes on Ranbir Kapoor that are too funny to miss:
At the IIFA Awards when Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh Cracked Jokes on Ranbir Kapoor
Singing Johnny Johnny (Ranbir Kapoor’s name in the film Bombay Velvet), the funny duo started poking fun at the expense of Ranbir’s series of flops this year. Starting with Bombay Velvet, Ranveer Singh and Arjun mentioned that Ranbir Kapoor should not have been named Johnny Balraj, but Roti in the movie. The reason being, his co-star, Anushka Sharma was named Rosie and so, together they could have been called Rosie-Roti in the film. Needless to say, they both took away all the Rosie-Roti from Anurag Kashyap’s pocket.
Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor also joked about Ranbir’s another film, Roy. They said the movie should have been titled as Destroy instead.
When He was called as the Next Kumar Gaurav of Bollywood
Jokes on Bombay Velvet became viral on the Internet and we thought it would even break the records of Alia Bhatt jokes. While, people mostly made fun of the movie as a whole, Ranbir Kapoor became the individual target where people roasted him left, right and centre.
Here are some of the jokes shared on him on the Social Networking sites.
“Ranbir Kapoor delivered Roy so that people could prepare themselves for bigger disappointments like Bombay Velvet” said one
“Looks like another Besharam is on its way in the form of Bombay Velvet -. Ranbir is the next Kumar Gaurav of Bollywood” said another.
“It is better to watch Krk’s review on Bombay Velvet than watch Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet.”

Surprisingly, Ranbir Kapoor is not the only one who is under the fire, even Karan Johar is the target of jokes after the Bombay Velvet Debacle. However, he is not being ragged by media and viewers but celebs from the Industry.
During the press meet of the film Brother, there was an interaction session when Karan Johar spoke how producers are turning actors these days. The Khiladi quickly in a funny way said,”Karan, just because you have worn a ‘velvet’ coat today doesn’t mean you are an actor.” A visibly embarrassed Karan retorted, “Why are you throwing salt on someone’s wounds?”Why are you throwing salt on someone’s wounds?“
