Nearly 1400 ‘pratinidhis’ from all over the country are participating in the meeting that will be electing the new Sarkaryawah for the next three-year term.
The ABPS is expected to pass two resolutions viz. mother tongue as medium of instruction at primary level and congratulating the UN for declaring June 21 as International Yoga Day.
The annual meeting of the highest decision making body of RSS is attended by prominent office-bearers of 35 organizations owing allegiance to RSS ideology and started by its swayamsevaks in different fields of national and social life.
These organizations include Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), Swadeshi Jagarana Manch (SJM), Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (VKA), Vidya Bharati, Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Vivekananda Kendra, and of course the Bharatiya Janta Party.
Prominent amongst those participating are BJP President Amit Shah, Organising Secretary Ram Lal, VHP President Dr Pravin Togadia, and others.
Sarkaryawah Bhayyaji Joshi presented his annual report to the ABPS meeting. The report paid homage to all the prominent personalities that departed to heavenly abode in year that passed.
It also listed major achievements of the RSS in the country. Special mention is made in the report of gathering of swayamsevaks at Aurangabad and winter conference at Imphal in Manipur. The college students’ camp at Agra and in uttarakhand also finds mention in the report.
Various programs were organized by different departments of RSS such as sharirik or physical, bouddhik or intellectual, and prachar or publicity department to spread and consolidate the Sangh activities in various parts of the country.
The report also notes special programs like historic route march in Tamil Nadu, “Samarth Bharat’ seminar in Bangaluru, efforts for social harmony through weekly congregations in Konkan region, Mahsangam of Devgiri prant, Karyakarta Shivir of Gujarat, Rashtra Sadhana Sammelan of Yavatmalk, Vidarbha, College students’ camp in Malwa, extensive contact scheme, Vistarak yojana and health camp in Mahakoshal, Sangh Parichay Varg in Haryana, Sahitya Darshan book fair in Jalandhar, Punjab, and so on.
The report stated that the present atmosphere is most conducive for spreading RSS work in the country and exhorted the swayamsevkas to engage themselves in this mission with their heart and mind together to accomplish the cherished dream of RSS founder.
