Today it is the dirty politics of opportunism, chicanery, deceit and quick money making by our so called Netas that has been and is still systematically ruining this great nation of ours. And that too without any shame, a sense of guilt and accountability whatsoever. And this today therefore is of very grave concern to all of us who claim to be patriotic Indians. But all that we do as educated and responsible citizens is to simply sit on our haunches, lump it and curse ourselves for this very sad state of affairs in this country . In other words we do nothing and remain contented with what is going on and we stick to that ‘Arre Yaar Chalta Hai –Chalne Doh’ attitude.
But I am afraid we are running out of time and unless we gear ourselves up and bring in fresh clean young honest blood into our rotten political system that has been polluted by self seeking, power hungry, dynastic and corrupt politicians, then the future of this so called democratic country will soon become another Banana Republic.
Today the majority of our politicians are not only a disgrace to the good name of India but they are a bigger disgrace to the millions of our poor ‘Aam Aadmis’ who have been voting them to power time and again. And as a result of which it is the poor Aam Aadmi who have been and are still being constantly exploited by these so called Pseudo Netas through their narrow minded, selfish, caste and creed based regional politics. The blatant manner in which these Netas take laws into their own hands, make a mockery of the Lokpal Bill, refuse to come under the RTI Act, keep holding each others hands and scratch each others back and switch sides when convenient, only goes to prove that they are all of the same wretched stock. And as far the country is concerned it can simply go to hell and to the dogs. Therefore when it comes to important issues like that of health, education, poverty eradication, rural development and better infrastructure, these only become hi-fi slogans during election time every time and are quietly forgotten once they are voted back to power. And as far as morality, probity in public life and accountability are concerned the less said the better because when it comes to making easy money they just couldn’t careless. I am afraid that most of them do not know the real meaning of the word sacrifice because they have not seen hard days and as far as sacrificing for the nation is concerned, you can simply forget it. They will rather sacrifice the nation and its wealth also and yet get away with it.
So what is the answer? As a responsible 75 year old senior citizen and one who has served in the gallant Indian army for 40 long years my answer is that the modern young generation must come forward and take these bulls by their horns. The time has come to bring in a radical but healthy change to this badly polluted and highly corrupted political system. And this can only be done by first getting rid of all such political bad hats and their dynasties and by bringing in fresh new faces of young, well educated, thoroughly honest, highly dedicated and dynamic leaders to lead this nation. We cannot afford to have anymore regional, caste and creed based politics guiding the future of this nation. And if this is allowed to continue then I am afraid this will lead to further Balkanizing India. I therefore feel that the dire need of the hour is for the young generation of today to come out in open support of people like Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal and such like others. They at least had the guts to stand up and call a spade a spade and needless to say it also stirred the nation.. With elections round the corner this may be a small beginning, but if given the right amount of momentum this will definitely keep the criminals, crooks, history sheeters and the corrupt politicians to think twice and be given tickets by their political masters. This would also create a sense of fear that the Aam Aadmi can no longer be taken for granted.
