The Grand Mufi of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah made the comment in view of an age-old rule that only Islam can be practiced in the region: “It is “necessary to destroy all the churches of the region,” following Kuwait’s moves to ban their construction. Speaking to a delegation in Kuwait, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, stressed that since the tiny Gulf state was a part of the Arabian Peninsula, it was necessary to destroy all of the churches in the country, Arabic media have reported. Saudi Arabia’s top cleric made the comment in view of an age-old rule that only Islam can be practiced in the region.
The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia is the highest official of religious law in the Sunni Muslim kingdom. He is also the head of the Supreme Council of Ulema (Islamic scholars) and of the Standing Committee for Scientific Research and Issuing of Fatwas.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an embodiment of so-called Islamic Fanaticism. The tolerant and liberal Islam followed in India is threatened by the Indians who are brainwashed in Saudi-Wahabi doctrines which is nothing but brutal control of all sinews of power. Fourteen Hundreds years ago the same doctrine was applied in Kerbala, Iraq. Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet (PBUH) his entire family and friends were brutally slaughtered in the desert. For three days, before their massacre, they were provided no food, no water. Every year, at Moharrum, all over the world, that martyrdom is recalled. The brutality has roots earlier also but Kerbala was the milestone in the history of Tyranny and Bloodbath.
As the old saying goes – Happy people don’t make history. They do not become fanatic. The fanatic is one who always feels frustrated, powerless and discontented. They want to lose their old happy selves in a new collective body. Confident and contended people shun such groups. The sort of people who are attracted to such radical moments are those who would be attracted to any mass movement.
The problem is about the opportunities of advancement, which any free society offers frighten to these fanatics because the failed people of little talent always find freedom a burden. These fanatics seek to be free of individual responsibility for his action. They also want to be free of individual guilt. They crave for an atmosphere of strict discipline and love the adherence to their narrow doctrine. They feel a heady sense of liberation in overturning the existing social, religious and historical institutions. Their avowed passion of TRUE ISLAM is nothing but a passion for authority, uniformity and anonymity. Mediocre people with deep sense of their own inferiority always clamour for equality at the expense of individual freedom.
Demolition, destruction and desecration are nothing new to these fanatics. A call to pull down the churches is a part of their proud heritage. In 1920 these Muslim fanatics from Nejd, the Al Sauds and Al Wahabs had demolished the holy monuments of Prophets’ progeny, friends, family members, elders and relatives in JANNATUL BAQI, Medina, JANNATUL MUALLA in Mecca and in Taif and at many other places. These fanatics do not encourage the sort of deep soul searching and reformation of character. They want you to sport a long beard, pull up your pants above ankle, insert a herbal miswak in your mouth, leave your family for weeks and months and propagate the brand of religion which has nothing but hate for others.
All level headed individuals and religious scholars should take cognizance of this Sheiks edict; condemn it and tell the world what the Islam stands for.
