What ‘She Shop’ is all about?
A ‘She Shop’ is a food kiosk to be studded all across Kochi. She Shops would be operated by women and is an initiative by local government to curb down poverty. The project would be launched on 8th march, International Women’s Day, by the civic body with the support of Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation. Hygenic centralized kitchen would supply the food in these women-run food kiosks. This food from kitchen would reach to selected kiosk sby the women auto-drivers.
Women in need of financial support will be segregated first by the local body and then allocated these shops. CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility would be funding this project.
About food, food would be devoid of maida and synthetic colors and nor would be oil allowed in abundance.
Waste generated at these shops will be utilised to produce biogas,” mayor Soumini Jain said.KSWDC will decide on the menu, provide training to interested women entrepreneurs and monitor the environment-friendly project.
As declared, the kiosk will be jointly owned by the corporate and women entrepreneurs.
