So what made our PM speak with all earnest? Was it his frustration or his craving for another term as PM (which he once said he might be open to it), or has he been directed to speak on the instance of “The Madam (Sonia Gandhi)“, the answer to all these questions are inexplicable as his silence all the years around.
Mr. PM has always maintained his silence in a dignified stance but more so this has actually boomeranged against him. Be it the Dec 16 rape agitation which shook the nation’s consciousness or the recent swinging of economy, Manmohan Singh has been always maintained status quo on his speech. As the first minister of the cabinet , he has been always been looked upon to put his viewpoint forward and direct his ministers in charge to act fast be it on the economic front or faltering law and order situation and women safety. But his sudden utterances has equally being noticed by all and sundry, his famous speech “Have you seen in any parliament, where the opposition blame the PM and utter “PM
Chor Hai?”,has been taken aghast by the leaders of opposition. Quick came the reply from Rajya Sabha leader of opposition Mr. Arun Jaitley “Have you seen in anywhere in the world, where the government saves itself by buying votes of account?”. The acerbic exchange of arguments was quite evident and leads us to belief that in a parliamentary democracy, such happenings are deemed to be normal and the common man is ought to believe in such a dying system and keep his voice under wrap.
So we believe Mr. Singh, when he rhetorically defends his government and himself and says that “He is not the custodian of Coal Scam files under the CBI Scanner.”, The point is quite well taken but should we not belief the fact that under his leadership and more so when he was himself handling the coal ministry, a humongous scam occurred which left us all thinking in the lurch.
