Thailand is one foreign location which is a treat for almost every budget. Besides, Thailand has almost everything that any backpacker or tourist might want their holiday destination to be. Here I’ll be specific as to why Indians love to spend their holiday in Thailand:
1. Because Holiday Packages of Thailand is Cheaper than Packages to Kerala, Rajasthan & Andamans
We Indians love to get the maximum value for money (VFM zindabad!). And now that holiday packages to Thailand come at a cheaper rate why visit Kerala and Andamans all over again? Needless to say, this has been the major reason why maximum of the newlyweds head off straight to Thailand for their honeymoon. Makes sense – When a foreign destination comes as cheap as a nearby location why miss the chance of getting a stamp on our passport, isn’t it?
2. Fascinating Scuba Diving
After the block buster movie Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara, every third Indian urban guy and girl wants to try Scuba Diving. No wonder, Thailand is one of the World’s best site for Scuba Diving. Besides, it comes cheap as compared to other foreign scuba diving locations.
3. The Nightlife of Bangkok
Bangkok being the Sin City of the East, it is a popular destination for bachelors to experience the exotic nightlife of Bangkok. Needless to say, often a Bachelor trip to Bangkok raises eyebrows from their female counterparts. And if these ladies in question have seen ‘The Hangover” movie may forbid them form going altogether!
4. The Delicious Food
A big challenge for Indians traveling abroad is food. We like our spicy food with vegetraia options. Thai cuisine is something we love with it being rich in spicy coconut and peanut based sauces with both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Thai street food is delicious and street vendors are abundant. Foodies get to indulge in authentic noodle dishes, soup, the fried rice , satay and different types of BBQ food. With food this good we do n longer need to hunt for a “desi” restaurant in this land.
From Thai Silk, Thai Coffee to tailor made clothes, ceramics, pottery, shoes, bags and even household accessories, everything comes cheap in Thailand. Indians love this extravagant and affordable shopping destination. Off late, you can see a herd of Indians at the airport terminal with HD LED TV’s!!
6. Pristine Island and Beaches
Thailand has over 5,000 miles of coastline and almost all the Island and beaches of are picturesque and accessible. Indians not only get to explore this beautiful Island and beaches but also get an opportunity to indulge in exotic water sports activities including Kayaking.
7. Thai Massage
While, Ayurvedic massage of India might be famous, getting a Thai Massage is one of the priorities of Indians while booking their tickets to the Thailand. You will find massage parlours in every nook and corner. It is almost guaranteed you will not leave without indulging in this relaxing activity. It is this promise that lures people in droves to this holiday destination.
8. Petting Adult Tigers
As soon as Indians are back from a holiday in Thailand, the first thing we see is their photos on Facebook patting adult tigers and feeding them milk with bottle. Needless to says, Indians love spending a day taming these wild beats in Kanchanapuri as well as the Tiger Temple of Thailand. Even though India is the original land of this magnificent beast – it is impossible to interact with them this closely. Now thats a big hit with kids and adults alike. And who can resist a status update “chilling with tigers”!
9. Elephant Safari
An Indian Family trip to Thailand will be incomplete without riding on an elephant like a mahout. Children preferred activity, this one keeps the kid entertained throughout the day as they ride on the huge animal midst the lush jungles and lakes.
10. To Enjoy the Warm International Environment
The streets are full of people around the world. Tourist across the world chose this “land of smile” destination as their holiday spot not only because of its beautiful resources but also because of its warm and friendly people. Indians are no exception!
11. Historical Connection
Thai History is linked with ancient India and it gives us a sense of familiarity and pride visiting places like Ayutthaya (an ancient place named after Ayodhya) an archaeological site filled with historical ruins and monuments. Also the Buddhist temples are a huge attraction for Indian tourists.
