Plot and Story of Shaadi Ke Side Effects

Plot – Shaadi Ke Side Effects is a sequel to the 2006 film Pyaar Ke Side Effects (starring Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat – both films are brought to us by the same makers.  The story is that of the emotional trials and tribulations of the original pair of Sid and Trisha. Whereas the earlier Sid was played by Rahul Bose the role of the commitnemnt phobic DJ, we now have Farhan Akhtar essaying the role of Sid. Mallika Sherawat’s Trisha has been replaced by the redoubtable Vidya Balan.

There should be much to look forward to from this film; which features something of a casting coup – the hugely talented lead pair will be sharing screen space for the first time. Ram Kapoor is Sid’s friend and relationship consultant in the movie whereas Purab Kohli is the “Padosi” – possibly the third wheel in the relationship – we don’t know yet.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects – Theatrical Trailer

So whereas the earlier film dealt with the complexities of dating, and relationships before marriage, the sequel Shaadi Ke Side Effects obviously deals with the minefield of issues that marriage and parenthood bring.  Like the first movie this movie will also be an urban story of contemporary characters and a battle of the sexes type of story.

Released a couple of days ago, the theatrical trailer of Shaadi Ke Side Effects has crossed the million views mark a while back. The movie deals with usual stresses and problems of married life and those of looking after a little baby. The new mother expects her husband to snore softly and to fall of the bed noiselessly. He on the other hand scoffs at the concept that marriage is about love and trust and accepts that marriage is about little lies. He is also sure that even Albert Einstein did not know about the wrong side of the towel – which is what he is supposed to be using to wipe their little baby girl Mili.

Farhan Akhtar & Vidya Balan’s Chemistry

Last seen in the critically acclaimed and commercially well received Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan had taken some time off for her own marriage in December of last year. Fresh from his highly successful Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Farhan Akhtar as the confused new dad Sid should be a treat. Though Vidya Balan has been recently married and Farhan having been married (to Adhuna Bhabani) for the past 13 years, the two consummate professionals and their chemistry will be something to watch out for.
